Ashwini Deshpande graduated from the faculty of Visual Communication of National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India. As a co-founder, she leads Communication Design at Elephant, one of India’s pioneering design practices.
Ashwini defines her mandate as that of making Global brands relevant to India and helping Indian brands achieves global success keeping native essence in place. She has been directing the look for Champion’s League T20 cricket tournaments for two seasons in India & South Africa. Her awards include Designomics, AsiaStar Packaging Excellence & Global ReBrand.
Ashwini was invited by Rockefeller Foundation to participate in a global Social Impact summit and by Danish Design Foundation at the Global Co-creation Summit at Copenhagen. She has lectured at AIGA in Boston, icograda Design week in Vancouver & Istanbul, BoDW at Hong Kong and several other conferences. She was jury on Global ReBrand 100, PrintWeek, Spikes Asia and Design for Asia Student Awards.
Ashwini has been advising a media group to create user-centric approach since 2010. She is on the ColourNext colour forecast panel for Asian Paints since 2003 and has been a brand ambassador for HP. Her Individual publishing includes chapters in two international books and articles in National publications. She is the editor of Colours of Asia book that was part of tDAA project in 2012.
